The Pine Needles classic Donald Ross-designed course is currently ranked # 3 in North Carolina, it has been the site of three U.S. Women’s Open Championships, This nationally acclaimed course is both challenging, yet rewarding for golfers of all skill levels.

The golf course, and is a traditional parkland style, as with most of Ross's courses, requires good shot making. Its tree lined fairways are a bit intimidating, but in fact are fairly open, with the difficulty in the course the approach to the crowned, bent grass greens which are small and fast. There are only 42 traps through the 6,603 yard 128 slope track. If you're not staying at Pinehurst, the lodge here is a great alternative.
