Scotland, as per most rating systems, is generally recognized as having 11 of the top 100 golf courses in the world. Since most golfers want and insist on playing St. Andrews Old course when they go to Scotland on a golf tour we have structured this tour concentrating on the golf courses that are situated on the East Coast of Scotland that are in the top 100 golf courses in the world.

The Tour

This tour is the only advertized tour that plays exclusively golf courses that are rated in the world top 100 by various rating systems. In this tour we play the following courses:

  • # 22 Carnoustie Championship Course
  • # 04 St. Andrews Old course
  • # 61 Kingsbarn Golf Links
  • # 09 Muirfield
  • # 93 North Berwick West Course

Accommodations

As so far as accommodations are concerned, we believe that every golfer wants accommodations that he truly believes are up to his standards.

Therefore upon arrival we will drive to the Carnoustie Hotel and Spa that is less than 100 feet from the Carnoustie Championship course and has all the amenities that one would want from an accommodation during a golf vacations, such as on site leisure facilities including sauna, indoor pool, steam room, Jacuzzi, and gym, etc.

For our 2 games at Muirfield and North Berwick we will be staying in North Berwick at the Macdonald Marine Hotel & Spa and exceptionally at the Nether Abbey Hotel. With panoramic sea views across the Firth of Forth and the West Links golf course, their handsome Victorian villa offers comfortable and friendly bed and breakfast accommodation. The Belhaven Hotel is in a great location - the beach, train station, Scottish Seabird Centre, harbour, shops, restaurants and pubs are all within minutes walk.

For your last night you will be staying at the Glasgow Airport Holliday Inn, in order to accommodate the various flight times of the members of your group.

Detailed Itinerary

(Please note that the days can be switched due to starting times availability for optimal planning.)

Saturday:
Meet and greet at airport. Meet driver for drive to Carnoustie Hotel. Afternoon depending on choice of group will either have an optional round of golf on Buddon or Burnside course or "Prepare for the Links" with a clinic from your PGA Professional.. 17:00-19:00 Orientation cocktail followed by Q&A

Sunday:
Late Breakfast at hotel to permit adjustment to jet lag. Afternoon round of golf on the Kingsbarn’s Dunhill Links Championship Course and return to Carnoustie Hotel for supper.

Monday:
Breakfast at hotel followed by drive to St. Andrews to play Old Course. Visit to golf museum (tickets included in tour) and shopping in St. Andrews. Supper at Dunvegan Hotel-Claret Jug restaurant in St.Andrews or return to Carnoustie Hotel for supper.

Tuesday:
Breakfast followed by a round of golf at Cruden Bay.

Wednesday:
Breakfast and round of golf on Carnoustie Championship course. Following lunch we travel to our hotel in North Berwick .

Thursday:
Breakfast followed by round of golf at Muirfield

Friday:
Breakfast and round of golf at North Berwick West course. Following our round of golf we will check out of hotel and transfer to our hotel near airport. Supper will permit a last collective activity and souvenirs will be given to all participants.

Saturday:
Breakfast at everyone’s discretion. Transfer to airport for return flight home taking wonderful memories of your vacation.

Important Notes:

The tours that are offered on this site “Top 100 Golf Tours” offer you the opportunity to play the best golf courses in the world. The starting times on these golf courses are in high demand and therefore the longer the lead time the better chances of getting to pay the courses. As an example one of the courses on these tours open their reservation’s book for the 2011 season in February 2010.The Old course at St. Andrews can’t be reserved at this date for 2010, any booking requires either using the ballot or guaranteed tee times that have been purchased at a greatly increased price. The conclusion is that to have the best 2011 trip reserve it prior to September to give us the chance of getting all the starting times you require to have a memorable golf vacation.
